From Tomball, TX to London, England, my friends and I came of age on 35mm. For the past ten years, I've been documenting my life on film. I photograph my friends, where we go, moments big and small — capturing the beauty in the everyday.
I can measure the age of a friendship by if a friend still sees my camera of not. And if sometimes they pretend not to see it to give me the extra three seconds to capture what I saw.
When I first began photographing things, I felt like something had to be *special* to make it worthy of being captured. But as I practiced, I realized that my definition of worth was flawed. What I truly love are vignettes of regular life — ordinary moments that tug at something deep, have a sense of atmosphere, that you can almost smell or taste. I call these moments of small magic. Today, my film diary lives on Instagram.
